Terms & Conditions

Agreement and Private Status

By accessing Upshur County Released Inmates, you agree to these terms. Stop using the site if you do not agree. This is a privately operated reference resource. It is not affiliated with Upshur County, any sheriff, jail, court, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, or another government agency. It cannot act on a person’s custody, bond, case, or release.

Permitted and Prohibited Use

You may use the material for lawful, personal, informational purposes such as locating an official source, checking a custody change, or preparing a public-record request. You may not disrupt the site, bypass controls, scrape at harmful scale, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, violate privacy or publicity rights, harass anyone, or use information unlawfully.

This site is not a consumer reporting agency. Its content and results may not be used for credit, employment, hiring, housing, tenant, insurance, or any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Services

Sponsored searches, government portals, and other outbound links are controlled by third parties. Their availability, data, prices, and terms can change. A link is provided for convenience and does not endorse or guarantee the provider. Any transaction or dispute with a third party is between the user and that provider.

No Warranties

The site and its content are offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted access, or error-free operation. Release and custody data can lag, omit records, or reflect different agencies and dates. Confirm material facts with the office that created the record.

Liability and Indemnification

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site’s owners and operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or third-party services. Where a limitation is not allowed, liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law. You agree to defend and indemnify the site and its operators from claims, losses, and reasonable costs caused by your unlawful use or breach of these terms.

Ownership and Access

Original site text, organization, branding, and design are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Government records and third-party materials remain subject to their own rights and rules. No license is granted beyond ordinary personal use. Access may be suspended or revoked for misuse, risk, or operational reasons.

Changes and Texas Law

These terms may be updated by posting a revised version. Continued use after posting accepts the revised terms. Texas law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent needed, while the remaining provisions stay effective. Failure to enforce one term is not a waiver.
